If you took New Jack City, slowed it down, and added a green filter, you get New Jet City. The cinematic journey demonstrates that there are levels to Spitta’s chilled out style, shifting from the ultra lean back joints (“Three 60”) up to the “right-before-coming-down” level ones (“Coolie in the Cut”). It’s rare you find a project that you could play for your newborn to fall asleep to and should be nominated for an Oscar for Best Soundtrack.
