The anthem from Rich Homie Quan, Drake called, “Song of the summer” to MTV back in August, quickly became the anthem of the Michigan State Spartan football season after a viral video caught fire on the internet showing players and coaching staff turning up to Rich Homie Quan after an impressive win over Michigan, 29-6.

However, as the season progressed, Rich Homie Quan caught on to the MSU football team’s success and signed on to support the squad through its season leading up to Wednesday night’s 100th annual Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.

Making Stanford fans “feel some type of way” were the Spartans (No. 4, 13-1), who were victorious over the Cardinals (No. 5, 11-3) in a tight 24-20 comeback victory. Key players in the MSU victory include Connor Cook, who passed for a career-high 332 yards and  Tony Lippett with a tie-breaking 25-yard touchdown pass that secured the MSU lead early in the fourth quarter.

Rich Homie Quan professed his interest in joining the Spartan Nation and pledged his support to the team mid-season and has been loyal to the team all the way to Pasadena.

As told to MLive, “For me to be on the field with Michigan State at the Rose Bowl, I’ll have the butterflies,” Quan said in a phone interview. “I didn’t go to college, so this means a lot. I just want to shout out to the whole Michigan State alumni, it’s so special just to be a part of this movement.”

Victory for MSU!
