What are your instagram tips?

Lena Dunham: I think just instagram what you think is funny and exciting and try not to include any animal abuse!

Do you support Selfies?

Lena Dunham: Yeah. I support Selfies! I think the war on selfies is really unjust!

What is a typical girls night for you?

Lena Dunham: A girl’s night for me is with a member of my family on the couch, eating takeout, watching something good, going to sleep early, it’s so boring, but it’s just what I need!

What can we expect in Season 3?

Lena Dunham: What’s really fun is we are following a lot of different characters’ storylines and kind  of going to new places and new geography. We’re kind of expanding. Season 3 really allows you to move outside just sort of the core group of characters and engage with a lot of different people.

Who would be your ideal guest star?

Lena Dunham: Gloria Steinem, Daniel Day-Lewis, Pam Grier, those are some favorites!

On Season 2, Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino starred on the show.

Lena Dunham: Oh yeah! He’s amazing. His new album is so good!

What other hip-hop artists would you like to guest star on “Girls”?

Lena Dunham: I think Kendrick Lamar would make a nice addition to our cast! He’s really busy though.

If you could give advice to your younger self, what would it be?

Lena Dunham: I would tell my younger self to relax and stop trying so hard because it’s going to be ok and you can’t force other people to like you and you just kind of have to ride the wave. I think I could have saved myself a lot of sleepless nights with that advice.

Do you think fans are rooting for Adam and Hannah?

Lena Dunham:  I hope so! I hope that despite all the insane nonsense that they have both done, people are in some way rooting for this relationship, while also recognizing that it’s insane.

In terms of career, how has Hannah evolved this season?

Lena Dunham: She’s really trying to push forward and it leads her into a lot of zones, like she starts working an office job, she’s expanding and it’s not always easy.

We also spoke with the show’s executive producer Jennifer Konner.

What can fans expect on Season 3 of “Girls”?

Jennifer Konner: Well, I would say this is the point in the girls’ life where this may be the first time we’ve seen them actively grow up a little bit and it’s “Girls,” so it’s not going to be the best most strategic necessarily way to go about that, but they are all trying in a way that we haven’t seen them try before.

Lena acts, write, produces and directs the show. How does she do it all?

Jennifer Konner: I literally have no idea! I keep waiting to pick up some tricks. It’s incredible. She works harder than anyone I have ever met, she doesn’t sleep very much and she’s kind to everybody she works with and I don’t know, we are going to find out she’s an alien soon cause how would anyone be like that?

If there could be a hip-hop cameo or guest star on the show who would you like to see and why?

Rick ross. This is by the way the third time I have mentioned him on this line…He’s just on my brain today! I don’t know…wouldn’t he be amazing?

“Girls” returns January 12.
