An 11 year old boy and a 13 year old girl were injured during a shooting at their middle school on Tuesday morning in Roswell, New Mexico.
The suspected shooter, a 12 year old classmate, used a 22-gauge sawed off shotgun to terrorize his classmates. The boy has not yet been named or formally charged. Investigators are looking into why he brought the weapon to school, which was hidden in a musical instrument case.

The boy who was shot remains in critical condition, while the young woman’s status has been upgraded to stable. The suspected shooter was uninjured and was transferred to a psychiatric hospital.
