Mac Miller‘s been working with Pharrell a lot lately, and their upcoming EP, Pink Slime, is slated to be out sometime this year, but they’ve already worked on Mac’s latest LP, and Sk8brd has thrown a lot of his support behind the Pittsburgh artist. Not to mention, Juicy J and Earl Sweatshirt, some of Mac’s recent collaborators have both experienced resurgences in their careers since signing with Columbia/working with Pharrell. Though Columbia is more reminiscent of the big ticket major label engines that Mac has steered clear of for most of his career as a member of Rostrum, it would be extremely interesting to see if his fan base matriculates with him as he enters the realm of multi-million dollar budgets and grand album rollouts. We also heard through the grapevine that Pharrell can be quite persuasive.
