In one of the more unlikely partnerships, rap legend, Q-Tip, Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill will be teaming up for a television series. The currently untitled show will be a scripted, semi-autobiographical series, loosely based on Tip’s experiences as a member of the late 80’s/early 90’s Hip Hop supergroup, the Native Tongues. Consisting of A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, the Jungle Brothers, Queen Latifah and many more well known acts of the era, the Native Tongues posse formed in 1988 around the ideology of afrocentrism and positivity.

DiCaprio and Tip have been best friends since 1994, so it’s no surprise that Leo’s production company Appian Way will be taking the reigns on the series. While the script and name of the project have yet to be finalized, the foundation of talent behind the series should prove to be enough to get the series picked up by a network.
