The group first formed in Orlando, Florida by Lou Pearlman and The group’s name is also a play on the last letter of each of the original members’ names: JustiN, ChriS, JoeY, JasoN, and JC. The group severed ties with their former manager and ended up becoming one of the only boy bands to ever become platinum. The group broke up in 2002 but soon reunited to give Justin Timberlake the MTV Video Vanguard Award at the 2013 Video Music Awards.
