The 2014 Winter Olympic Games are in full effect in Sochi, Russia. Though nothing terrible has happened in the games just yet, the weeks prior to the games had the world on the edge of their seats with reports of terrorist attacks in Sochi. Unfortunately, the Olympic games has had a history of being plagued by terrorist attacks, scandals and just plain bad luck in the past century.
From corrupted officials to eye-opening revelations, the Olympics have become a media spectacle. Although the good moments usually outweigh the bad, there are still a series of bruises in the Olympic timeline that will never be forgotten.
