To commemorate what would’ve been the 40th birthday of one of Hip-Hop’s and music’s greatest artists, James Dewitt Yancey aka J Dilla, Slum Village took an unreleased Jay Dee beat and vocal sample, and turned it into a new favorite song of mine to unwind to. Illa J, Young RJ, and T3 go from the girls to the guys who can attest for various reasons why everyone’s jocking their chains. The beat is smooth yet hard hitting with a slowed down disco hand clap. And that melody in the background could be any woodwind instrument that blends beautifully with the rest of the percussion.

Don’t forget to check out our Top 10 Production Credits list for J Dilla.
