Blacc Hollywood is coming.

Wiz Khalifa originally announced his third LP, Blacc Hollywood, would be released towards the end of last year, but with no real new music out, the junior effort was indefinitely pushed back. Today, we still have no release date, but rather a lead single to hinge our hopes on. “We Dem Boyz”, produced by revered sound specialist Detail (Beyonce‘s “Drunk In Love”, Drake‘s “305 To My City”), gives off a significant drill vibe, but leaves enough room for Wiz’s sing-songy character to shine through to make a decent anthem out of it. It’s certainly un-like anything we’ve heard from Khalifa, who’s known for his laid back, oft-Cardo/ID Labs/Sledgren-produced tracks, which are generally accentuated by their very tranquil bass lines and synthesizers. Still, it’s a dope sound to kick off the Blacc Hollywood campaign with, and it’ll be even more interesting to see where he takes it next.
