New York Jets Safety Ed Reed was robbed of $50,000 in Houston on Wednesday.
According to Reed, he made two stops at two local banks in Houston, and it was during the second stop, his car passenger window was smashed and money was taken out of the front seat. The reason behind Reed carrying such an amount of money is unknown.
Police are looking for a suspect.
He is the second Jet to make news for unrelated football news. Cornerback Antonio Cromartie recently made headlines for his opinion on marijuana use in the NFL. Cromartie said in an interview with Thisis50.com, that league officials “just need to let it go.”
Though football season is months away, the Jets are looking to improve their roster. The team hopes to re-sign right tackle Austin Howard before the start of free agency.
