If you’re getting the third degree from friends and family about what’s new in your love life, why you don’t have a date, why you’re not married yet or when you’re planning on getting serious with someone, be honest.
That also means telling them you don’t want to discuss it if that’s how you really feel.

Most people love talking about themselves, so deflect the question back to them, change the subject and let them talk.
Or, you could just tell them that you’re getting a few cats.
