The Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival released the beginning phases of its 13th annual lineup this evening with a wide variety of artists ranging from Hip-Hop giants to pop megastars. The 90,000 attendee festival is held on a 700 acre farm in rural Manchester, Tennessee the second weekend in June.
This year’s hip-hop and R&B artists include the often controversial Kanye West, west coast mega star Ice Cube and R&B sensation Frank Ocean. Other notable acts are to include Ms. Lauryn Hill previously of The Fugees, Wiz Khalifa, Danny Brown, Lionel Richie, A$AP Ferg and Pusha T. Non hip-hop related artists include Elton John, Jack White, Skrillex and many more.
Kanye West is being welcomed back with mixed emotions among music bloggers as the 7 time platinum album artist was booed off of the main stage during a 2008 Bonnaroo performance. Kanye conducted a social media firestorm after being pelted with glow sticks and other items which was caused by his performance being delayed over 7 hours. Kanye went as far as to call producers of Bonnaroo “squid brains”, “idiots” and blamed the production crew for his late appearance. West was originally scheduled to perform at 8:45 p.m. and did not take the stage until 4:45 the following morning.
The 4 day music festival begins June 12th, 2014 with tickets going on sale this Saturday. You can view the full line-up release video below or for more information visit www.bonnarooo.com
