It seems that the Boston Celtics will be holding onto their last superstar from the 2008 championship days Rajon Rondo. Celtics GM Danny Ainge understands that holding onto Rondo with the hopes of potentially luring in other superstar free agents this summer is key, especially considering they will have a lottery pick going into the 2014 draft.

There have been rumors flying around over the past month that Brandon Bass wants out of Boston. The Rockets could use another guy to throw the ball into the post to, as Bass is capable of backing down defenders and has a decent midrange game. He would be a great help for Dwight Howard who isn’t the most reliable go-to guy in playoff situations. Bass is a valuable piece and it would make sense for the Celtics to move him and another piece for a valuable asset in Omer Asik of the Houston Rockets.

Asik has made it loud and clear that he has no intentions of playing behind Howard and rightfully so. His game and his ego won’t allow him to be second fiddle to Howard, who he honestly believes he is better than (very debatable). I don’t think Asik is better than Howard, but he sure does and he is valuable. Asik is a bit petty with the entire act, but moving forward, he would be a nice piece to add to the Rondo puzzle in Boston.
