Jared Leto’ very emotional Best Supporting Actor award speech for his role in The Dallas Buyers Club dedicated to his mother was very heartfelt. Although Leto’s sincerity can kind of seem a bit like the male version of Anne Hathaway (who funny enough presented the award) in that it can come across as a bit contrived, you can tell he means what he says
Jim Carrey starring down Bruce Dern was pretty hysterical, yes it was super awkward, and had the audience not played along it probably would of felt like a catastrophe, but in the end it worked out and proved Jim Carrey can still be funny.
Kerry Washington was a perfect choice for a person to introduce Pharrell Williams performing the number one song in the country “Happy”.
Lupita Nyong, Merryl Streep and Amy Adams dancing with Pharrell during the song was everything .

I don’t know, watching a bunch of white guys (U2) perform a song about Nelson Mandella makes me feel some type of way, and I’m white..Matthew Mcconaughey was competing with himself: with the second to last episode of True Detective on at the same time as The Oscars, I found myself wanting to change the channel to HBO every time they showed him.

It seemed like every presenter had an issue even host Ellen Degeneress . Except Jamie Foxx, he was hysterical, and used the timing of having to read off a Teleprompter to his advantage.
The Broken Circle Breakdown for best foreign film. Ok so maybe I didn’t see any of the other foreign films nominees, but TBCB was damn good, and I doubt a movie about The Great Beauty was really better

Sandra Bullock not winning best actress – True Kate Blanchett was a super duper lock to win best actress in most people eyes , and she did prevail. But it’s kind of crazy to think that a performance like Sandra Bullock’s in Gravity, a movie that really- like director Alfonso Cuaron said when he accepted his award – WAS Sandra Bullock, did not catapult the so loved actress and past oscar winner into legitimate contention for this award is surprising.

Really not that many people got robbed because honestly the pretty much got it right. Spike Jonze winning best original script for Her to me was the lynchpin in this night where the seeming favorites for the right reasons prevailed.
