8) Ross fully and almost exclusively embraced the soul sound:
Although The Bawse is no stranger to soulful bangers like “Maybach Music” & “Magnificent” but he has long had the lex luger/trap sound as the ying to the soulfull yang. Although the louder/harder sound has worked for Ross, true fans usually gravitate more to his more sample, groove heavy rhythms. On Mastermind the soul sound shines through almost to a fault, but you have to respect an artist who has decided to really dig into his sound.
That being said, its interesting that “Mafia Music 3” , which is the third installment in a series that is known for it’s heavy soulfull vibe , has a distinctly more Caribbean vibe.
