Before she became a New York Times best seller for her books, she was a female rapper that was affiliated with Public Enemy. She rapped about slavery, women’s rights and what was going on in the community. She released her only debut album, 360 Degrees Of Power, which only sold 27,000 copies and she was dropped from her label Epic Records. Since then, she became an activist and became an executive director of Daddy’s House that was started by Diddy that is dedicated to giving back to the community.
