It’s Monday! You know what that means.. #ManCrushMonday! As we continue our series of honoring the finest men every Monday, we acknowledge actor, Michael B. Jordan. The 27 year old actor is best known for his roles on The Wire as a drug dealer, All My Children and critically acclaimed film, Fruitvale Station.
Although he was born in California, Jordan spent his precious childhood years in Newark, NJ. He attended Newark Arts High School, home to Tisha Campbell-Martin and Kat DeLuna. Being the second of three children, he initially didn’t plan on being an actor. His first gigs consisted of him modeling in which he appeared in ads for Modell’s Sporting Goods and Toys ‘R Us.
Michael eventually started his acting career picking up roles in Hardball, Friday Night Lights, Parenthood and more. One of the turning points in his career was his leading role in Fruitvale Station. Playing the shooting victim, Oscar Grant, the award winning actor performance was well received and established. Besides his handsome features, he has often been compared to a young Denzel Washington. Grabbing titles such as 30 people under 30 who are changing the world and one of 2013’s Breakout Stars by Entertainment Weekly and GQ, Jordan continues with the same momentum snatching more roles this year.
Besides acting, Jordan has stolen a piece from every woman’s heart with that killer smile. Making his name significant in the industry, continues to make a subconscious impact on his audience, especially the ladies, with his gentleman-like manners and work ethic.
