Peche (W 4th Street [Colorado Street])
Peche is pricy, and doesn’t open until 4 p.m. But its known for having some of the strongest cocktails in the city, and prides itself on making its own bitters. Try the “texas mule” (vodka, jalapeño and house-made ginger beer) with Hendrix gin, or go with the Sazerac with a lemon twist. The first absinthe bar in Austin’s warehouse district will certainly give you your money’s worth.
