Usually the New Orlean’s crooner, August Alsina, is gangsta on tracks, but on the Rick Ross assisted, “Benediction,” he removes his tough boy exterior and gives thanks for surviving the dangerous N.O. streets as he sings, “Started off in the streets/We would take collection from the fiends/People dying all around me/So, I gave you my testimony.”  And, like always, Rick Ross delivers by giving his testimony.
