It’s the anniversary of the day Dirt Dog was let out. “The greatest performer since, since –What’s his name?”

Today is a special night. It’s the 19th anniversary of the personal introduction of Russell Jones. On March 28, 1995, we saw something that we’ve never seen before. Something that nobody in the history of rap ever set themselves to to. Something crazy, something insane, his name: The Ol’ Dirty Bastard.

The world was first blessed with bars from the great Dirt Dog two years prior on Wu-Tang Clan‘s Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers). Two years later, “The third shot fired in the Wu-Tang revolution spotlights the crazy drunken flow of the Ol’ Dirty Bastard….a must-have for every real hardcore head….hardcore lyrics kicked live over a non-stop assault of that addictive Shao-lin funk.”

In fact, this album was ranked in The Source Magazine‘s “100 Best Rap Albums of All” Time back in 1998.
