“I am willing to show #Asian community I care by introducing the Ching-Chong Ding-Dong Foundation for Sensitivity to Orientals or Whatever,” The Colbert Report Twitter wrote Thursday. The joke was parodying Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder and his launch of the Washington Redskins Original Americans Foundation in light of controversy over the team name.

Sticking to the normal procedure of Twitter users, the network exploded with people leaving their two cents on the subject; holding nothing back, per usual. The initial tweet was deleted, but users were able to capture the text before it was gone. Stephen Colbert has to be one of the most loved guys on TV, always open and always honest. I don’t see this controversy lasting very long. What is your take?

I am mindful of the words i use when talking about things or making jokes, it isnt much to ask colbert to do the same #cancelcolbert–

There is a line between satire & offense that @StephenatHome cannot dance over. He tramples it. For transphobia& racism, #cancelcolbert–

You think that Colbert’s satire is OK? Um, no. It’s disgusting & devalues the lives of Asian & trans folks. #cancelcolbert–

#CancelColbert because these “jokes” once justified exclusionary acts, internment camps, atom bombs, napalm, and the murder of Vincent Chin.–
