Although Duke is no longer playing in the NCAA tournament, there’s still one Blue Devil putting up shots during March Madness.
Former Duke Blue Devil, Christian Laettner will host the first ever McDonald’s All-American Christian Laettner Basketball Clinic today in Chicago. The one-day clinic will be housed at the Quest Sports Complex in the Windy City.
The camp runs from 3:30PM-6:00PM Central Time.
A retired 13-year NBA veteran, Laettner was a 1988 McDonald’s High School All-American out of Nichols High School in Buffalo, New York. He’s best known for his heroics in the 1992 NCAA East Regional Game against Kentucky.
With 02.1 seconds left in the game, Duke was behind by two points coming out of a timeout. Grant Hill threw a hail mary heave from the other side of the court to Laettner. Laettner caught the ball at the free throw line and hit a turn-around fadeaway jumper. ‘The Shot,’ as it was dubbed, sealed a 104-103 Duke win and was imitated in school yards everywhere in the 90s.

During the Christian Laettner McDonald’s All American Basketball Clinic, campers will learn fundamental basketball skills and have the opportunity to meet and interact with the former Duke star.
