When Kirk Knight gives you a beat that a Japanese samurai would train to before an epic battle, you gotta sharpen your lyrical swords. Smoke DZA and Bada$$ Joey did just that for the last release before Smoke DZA’s Dream.Zone.Achieve. Both barely leave any empty space on the canvass as they pack their verses to the top with menacing metaphors. Joey’s verse gets sandwiched between Smoke’s but still has plenty of imagery to keep your appetite whetted for B4.DA.$$.

And remember, bow your head next time at Smoke DZA’s show (“Kushed God sermons at all my concerts”).
