Deandre Kelley of Cincinnati has been sentenced to 6 years in jail today after accidentally killing his daughter while firing gunshots in the air after a dispute with girlfriend Kristina Lanza. Deandre fired shots in the air on January 12th, 2014 after arguing with Kristina ironically about bringing a gun in their home. Deandre came back home around 3am drunk, fired the first gunshot out their front door and when ordered to leave by Kristina he fired two more shots into the air. Shanti, 11, Kristina and Deandre’s daughter was upstairs hiding during the argument while she was having a sleepover with her friends. Shanti was shot in the lung and later died at the hospital. Deandre pleaded guilty to one count of reckless homicide. In exchange, prosecutors dropped the charges of involuntary manslaughter, endangering children, weapons charge and was given 6 years instead of the 20 years in jail.
