Happy Birthday Jill Scott!
In this edition of Flashback Friday, we pay tribute to Ms. Jill Scott as Her Source looks back on her debut single, “Getting In The Way” and also saluting her on her birthday.
The single was released on April 11, 2000 from her first album, Who Is Jill Scott? Words and Sounds Vol. 1 and she shot the video in her hometown of Philadelphia.
In the video, she fights for her man against his ex-girlfriend that keeps constantly calling her house & hanging up the phone. She decides that she was going to see the ex-girlfriend at her house and instead of fighting her, she pulls off her wig.
At the end of the video, she comes out to be the winner instead of fighting her, in a grown woman fashion, she just let her keep talking. This video came out during the start of the 2000’s and always been known as her memorable video.
