The prez makes a pretty important pit stop in New York, NY
Today, at The Sheraton Hotel in Times Square, New York City, Barack Obama delivered a speech aimed at making sure measures aren’t taken to hinder certain Americans’ voting rights.

In some places, women could be turned away from polls just because they’re registered under their maiden name but their driver’s license has their married name. Senior citizens who’ve been voting for decades are suddenly told they can’t vote until they come up with the right ID.
That quote is a direct byproduct of state voting restrictions potentially being reinforced in favor of limiting voting privileges for many Americans, namely, senior citizens. It was Rev. Al Sharpton’s goal today to combat those thoughts and potential legislation with a convention, similar to the ones he’s held across the country.
