2014 is looking good for Mr. Thornton

Pusha T‘s last album, My Name Is My Name, was named The Source‘s 2014 Album Of The Year, debuted at #4 on Billboard & was hailed as the one of the more complete and thorough bodies of rap work in quite some time, but he isn’t merely sitting on his hands watching the critical acclaim roll in, the VA native is continually working.

Last night, at the Bacardi Mango Fusion event at the Tribeca Rooftop in NYC, we caught up with Pusha T and chatted briefly about just everything. He believes Rafael Nadal will win his record-breaking 9th French Open later this year in June–its worth noting he no longer fears the aggressive, feisty Novak Djokovic–and loves Mai Tai cocktails, famously made with Bacardi rum, but don’t let that distract you from the music.

The first thing he did in 2014 was lock himself in the studio with Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo, collectively known as The Neptunes, for three weeks and Pusha says they got “a groove going”, and he just left Los Angeles where he continued to work on his new album, King Push. When asked about a new G.O.O.D. Music album, Pusha didn’t have any definitive information, but he admitted there are lots of un-used music floating around, from him especially. Oh, and he still lives in Virginia. Yeaughk.
