Tech N9ne‘s Independent Grind Tour hit Worcester, MA recently and NE Hip-Hop was on the scene to catch up with one of it’s top emcees, Jarren Benton. They kicked it together on the tour bus for a little bit before the show and discussed everything from Jarren’s (still) recent Funk Volume partnership, fast-paced tour life, his last project (My Grandmas Basement) and where he does hardcore drugs with celebrities. He even gives the guys a tour of the bus, which isn’t too shabby if you ask me.

Jarren Benton is one of the most down-to-earth individuals on the planet. He never hesitates to be 100% honest and speak his mind, which is a main reason why his fanbase is so strong today. You know that rare breed of rappers who actually have the human element to them? The one’s who act like you and I? Yea, he’s one. In this interview, he reflects back to 2012 when labels were fighting to sign him and the tough decisions he had to make as a solo artist trying to break into the scene. Watch the full video, below.
