Phil knows.

Phil Jackson becoming the new president of The New York Knicks pretty much means he’s bringing nothing but winners onto his squad, especially after he not only let go of head coach Mike Woodson, but the entire coaching staff, last month. Having won 11 NBA Championships, coaching the likes of Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant & Shaquille O’ Neal, and instituting what is probably the most important offensive scheme of the past two decades (the triangle offense), its safe to say that wherever Phil goes, success usually follows.

Steve Kerr may be following.

According to the New York Daily News, Steve Kerr, former teammate of Michael Jordan during the Bull’s 1998 championship run, and a member of the San Antonio Spurs’ 2003 championship team, is nearing a deal to become the next coach of the New York Knicks, and the first coach in the Phil Jackson regime.

The Knicks narrowly missed the playoffs this past season, finishing just a game behind the Atlanta Hawks for the final Eastern Conference spot, and heavily speculation began as to whether or not Carmelo Anthony would be returning to the team. However, all indications point to the fact that Melo will be wearing blue and orange once again next season, and considering his current complete revamping of the coaching staff, it appears Phil Jackson is 100% devoted to making sure it isn’t in vain.
