Growing up in certain neighborhoods in California was no joke. When you have people honestly asking you how you kept your peace without a piece is a tell-tale sign. That’s the kind of drug and gang affiliated area Blu became familiar with as a young boy. But it also glistened with gold plaques and platinum chains. As a result, Blu had to walk a thin line so he wouldn’t get caught up with any gang activities nor become a statistic. It didn’t help that his name was associated with one of the most notorious gangs, the Crips. But Blu always had love for the streets, regardless of your set. The soulful production from Bombay on the new single The Return marks Blu’s homecoming for his upcoming double album, Good To Be Home.

With one of the best album covers I’ve seen in a while, Blu is set to drop Good To Be Home on May 20th via Nature Sounds/New World Color.
