Solange Knowles has had somewhat of a difficult week, especially considering the fight between her and Jay Z that erupted in the elevator of the Met Gala shortly after the festivities ended that’s taken up the news headlines of nearly ever national outlet for the past 72 hours.
Several rumors and unconfirmed/halfway-confirmed reports have been circulating as to the reason Solange–who isn’t known for being particularly outspoken or violent–would viciously punch, kick, and maliciously berate Jay Z while his wife of 6 years–Solange’s sister Beyonce–stood by and watched intently. The attack has been chalked up to Solange suspecting Jay Z of adultery, while unconfirmed New York Daily News reports claim that S. Knowles was upset that Hov planned on attending a Rihanna after party without Beyonce.
Today, Page Six, the entertainment column of The New York Post, is basically claiming that the Rihanna afterparty situation was merely the final straw on the camel’s back. According to the report, Solange had been dealing with intimate personal and family interviews, and was also specifically upset with Jay Z over reportedly being dropped from his label, Roc Nation, which recently made the move from being housed under Columbia Records to being its own entity under Universal Music Group.
