Ibaka’s Injury Could Spell The End For The Thunder
Last season, Russell Westbrook had a nasty collision with Rockets guard Patrick Beverley. The hit led to Westbrook’s knee injury which kept him out for the remainder of the 2013 Playoffs, leading to the Thunder’s second round exit to the hands of the Memphis Grizzlies. Fast forward to 2014 and Serge Ibaka is out for the rest of the postseason at the most inopportune time.
The Spurs are playing like a well oiled machine right now and Ibaka’s presence will be missed sorely by Durant and company. Ibaka was averaging 12 points this postseason, but it was his prowess and impact on the defensive end that might give the Spurs a clear advantage in this series, at least on the interior.
