A Silver lining? Maybe.
Unfortunately, because The Los Angeles Clippers were eliminated from playoff contention, losing their Western Conference Semifinal series in 6 games to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Donald Sterling has become the most interesting thing about that organization–a deeply saddening realization.
Today, the news coming out of Los Angeles gives reason to be slightly optimistic about the future of the Clippers. Today, ESPN is reporting that Donald Sherling has shifted all the negotiating power regarding the sale of the Clippers over to his wife, Shelly.
The NBA gave Donald Sterling until June 3rd to respond to the termination charges they set forth earlier this week, and while they were unwilling to give any member of the Sterling’s the right to negotiate the terms of the sale of the team, it appears they’ll be moving forward with Shelly Sterling with the understanding that she will not be resisting the process, and will look to sell the team right away.
