Such a sad story in Brooklyn, NY as the six-year old cousin of Chicago Bulls forward Taj Gibson was stabbed to death in an elevator. Prince Joshua Avitto and his seven-year old friend Mikayla Capers were in the elevator going to get ice cream when a man with a kitchen knife entered and attacked the two young children after telling them to “shut up”. They were rushed to the hospital, Avitto died from his injuries while Capers is listed in critical condition.
“He took my pride and joy away,” P.J.’s father, Nicholas Avitto, told the New York Daily News, adding that he never got a chance to kiss his son. “They done killed my baby,” the mother, who did not give her name, said outside Brookdale Hospital. “His birthday was in 16 days! Lord, they done killed my baby!”
The police are still searching for the suspect who is described as a heavy set man in his 20’s, wearing a gray sweatshirt. They released this sketch.
Taj Gibson took to his Instagram account posting a photo of his young cousin and expressing his grief over the incident.
