This year’s NBA free agency is very intriguing. The New York Knicks are trying desperately to re-sign Carmelo Anthony and the Miami Heat are trying to keep the “Big 3” of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh together. There are other teams looking in trying to shake things up. While the Houston Rockets and Chicago Bulls are trying to swipe one of the players, the Phoenix Suns are prepared to go after both Anthony and James, putting them together.

Armed with an offer that no else in the NBA can make – a chance to partner with Carmelo Anthony on an instant championship contender – the Phoenix Suns are planning an aggressive pursuit of LeBron James on Tuesday, league sources told Yahoo Sports.
Suns officials understand the bid will be something of a long shot, but are determined to get a meeting with James to convince him how the possibilities of two full max contracts, a roster stocked with talented, young players and the chance to pick the superstar free-agent partner of his choice ought to make Phoenix one of his most appealing suitors.
The Suns have $33.5 million in salary-cap space and could shed the next $10 million needed to sign James and Anthony to maximum contracts without unloading the young core of guards Eric Bledsoe and Goran Dragic and center Miles Plumlee
The Phoenix Suns shocked everyone last season with how well they played in a very tough Western Conference. Their 48 wins put them in 9th place and just shy of the playoffs but they have a lot of young talent. Pair that with the addition of LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony and that makes them serious championship contenders. It’s still a long shot but it’s definitely an option they should consider.
