Last night’s BET Awards were significant in more way than one, and most notably, Chris Brown made his much anticipated return to the stage. The oft-troubled entertainer had been in jail for most of this year, and during the spring when he hit single “Loyal” took off, it was up to the music video and his ravenous fans to spread the word and keep the record alive, because Brown spent its entire peak time, including the week it topped off as the #9 song in the country, behind bars.

Last night however, with a new lease on freedom–for now, Brown has one more hurdle to get over in the coming weeks to remain jail free for the foreseeable future–and an arena full of people looking for Brown to perform his smash hit for the first time, Chris took to the stage looking energized, nostalgic, and confident, and after being joined by Lil’ Wayne, Tyga, and a slew of back-up dancers, the VA native looked right at home on stage, especially when Travis Barker emerged from behind the curtains to fuel CB’s culminating dance.

No word on when the album that “Loyal” appears on, X, will finally hit stores (it just suffered its fifth push-back) but when it does, we’re sure it’ll make a serious splash. Chris hasn’t been this hot since he first came out.
