Hailing from Southside Jamaica, Queens, 26 year old Val was born into a family of hip hop heads, having both a mother that rapped and an uncle that produced. Val started making moves of his own in his late teens; now residing in Atlanta, he’s performed with some of the South’s major players, including Waka Flocka, Young Thug, Roscoe Dash, Jim Jones, and Young Scooter.
“I’ve been in the studio recording with all of these artists. This isn’t me just paying to get verses; I’m actually working with these guys on the songs,” Val said. “I don’t want people to think that I’m just relying on features, but that’s where music is today, and I want to show that I can do that,” he explained.
With a host of features lined up for this summer (including features with the above mentioned Waka Flocka, Jim Jones, Roscoe Dash, and Young Thug) Val is setting things off with a track called “Wait a Minute,” featuring Freebandz affiliate Young Scooter.
