It has been two years since one of hip hop’s shining new artists, struggling with the mental afflictions, took his own life.  Capital Steez had impressed critics and fans alike, thanks to his intricate wordplay and thought provoking lyrics. Unfortunately, the last time Steez was fully heard was on his debut mixtape, AmeriKKKan Korruption, which was received with  general praise. However, yesterday Pro Era let loose a track from the late emcee that was in their archive and it once again proves what a remarkable talent we lost so soon.

“Shooting Stars” borrows production from MF Doom, “?” track to be exact, which Steez is all too comfortable dismantling. He raps about never giving up on the dream and ambition he dearly holds on to, correctly claiming to be a shooting star. Only two minutes, it is a short teaser, but one that will have to played repeatedly to fully appreciate its impact.
