H&M, Jeff Koons and The Whitney hosted a star studded event to  celebrate the largest H&M store in the world. Fashionistas and art fans united at the new H&M store on Fifth Avenue at 48th Street. Attendees were the first to shop the new collection and the coveted Balloon Dog  (Yellow) handbag. The music was great and the drinks were flowing. Guests snacked on Chicken Spring Rolls, Macaroni & Cheese Pockets, Ricotta Cheese On Bread & Filet Mignon, to name a few. Some of the notables who joined Jeff Koons at the bash included Eric West, Alek Wek, Tinsley Mortimer, Julie Henderson, Perez Hilton, Olivia Wilde and Ashley Benson, to name a few.

H&M’s 57,000 square foot store is luxurious. Consisting of four floors, it has everything you need including it’s Home Collection. The store also boasts a full concierge shopping service. The highlight of the evening was a special  performance by British sensation Birdy. She had the audience captivated and guests were singing along to all of her songs. She is best known for working on the “Fault In Our Stars” soundtrack.

The store will open to the public TODAY at 12:00 p.m. with a grand opening celebration. On opening day the first 1,000 customers in line will receive an Access to Fashion Pass valued between $10 and $1000 as well as giveaways and the chance to win free passes to the Jeff Koons Retrospective at the Whitney Museum of American Art. To further celebrate the grand opening, customers who bring garments to be recycled in H&M’s Garment Collecting program before the store opens will be entered to win gift cards valued between $50 and $100.
