How many years have you guys been promoting?

Shane: 10-15 years

Sincere Show: 4 years now, originally came to L.A. from Chicago to pursue music. I was working with cats like No I.D. and YEEZUS himself while sleeping in my car for a bit, while I promoted. Staying close to the clubs I was promoting at is how I had access to make things happen … The Supreme Team definitely played a role in helping me get back on my feet … Club La Vida is where it started for me. I remember specifically that’s when the Sincere/DJ BAD show began.

Gary: About around 7 years. And within those years, I’ve managed artists, put on local showcases and saw the party industry change overnight. When the whole mortgage industry shifted, people’s money changed. It went from us doing big parties here and there to multiple times a week as per demand. Clubs were no longer looking for you to do one party that’s forty to fifty thousand dollars, they wanted two or three events … and the venue packed out each time, too.

What do you love about your job, what keeps the drive going?

Shane: Booking different hosts and creating the atmosphere and partying three or four nights a week! The best thing about it is we’re getting paid to do this, it’s cool because we get to work with record labels, clothing lines and other brands.

Sincere Show: I never really understood what it means to have influence in the way that we do. We are in Hollywood, the entertainment capital so everything we do is amplified. Because what happens is you have your Rihanna’s and Drakes who come to your party and that in turn makes national news. People garner that type of attention and from that, brands and companies want to work with us. That’s what I love about my job … Oh and we shut the city down, we be making news. That’s a big deal!

Gary: What people don’t realize is that this is actually a really competitive business. It gives us a lot of chances and freedom to make our own schedules and be creative and think outside the box. With that, the game can be very territorial and there is always someone trying to do what you’re doing. Most promoters just throw regular parties and don’t want to shout out celebrities or interact with the crowd, with us, it’s the opposite. We’re partying with the girls, pouring liquor down peoples’ mouths, and turning up on another level. For us, we always try different stuff, we feel you have to be creative to win.

What does the average work week look like for you guys?

Shane: I’m constantly researching and looking into who is in town or will be. I like having everything planned out and situated in advance. My main thing is always trying to think ahead so we avoid the preventable roadblock. With competition as real as it is out here, if you sleep on an opportunity, you lose.

Gary: For me it’s making sure everything is good with the talent, the in-house celebrities, the people attending and making sure our numbers are in line. We can have fun like this every night, but if we’re not making money, there’s no point.

Sincere Show: Every week is like the NFL Draft for me. Whose gonna get the player? One club might have someone like 2 Chainz at their party, then we have a Drake at our party on the same night. At that point, it’s up to the consumer to make a choice, who do I want to go see? It’s the “game of thrones” in real life and we’ve been blessed to be this consistent.

What is it about your events specifically that brings out all the A-List talent and industry heads?

Sincere Show: Oh me!!!

Nah, but Hollywood has always been the secret society, you might see a Lindsay Lohan leaving the club, but you never see what’s going on inside of the club. With ANYTHING that we do, not only do you get to see these celebrities, but you rub elbows with them, take pictures and have a good time with them.

We’ve managed to create an environment where people that are there can actually party with celebs. Everybody wants to see these people, so I take the honor of putting them front and center. By either getting them directly on stage or putting their ass on blast, I don’t care who you are, I want the people to see you.

Shane: We changed the landscape…

The celebrities that we deal with appreciate us because we 1. treat them like celebrities and 2. don’t treat them like they’re better than anybody else either – it’s a nice balance. Yeah you’re a celebrity, but you’re here to have a good time, too. Don’t host the party and not have a good time.

With that, the craziest things happen at a Supreme Team party, this type of stuff don’t happen anywhere. We originated the environment where everybody is one. We’ll get on the floor and start a soul train line in the middle of the party and do a whole set from 90’s and be in this bitch like “House Party.”

Gary: It’s just a vibe. It’s so much fun to be here, it’s weird because you can tap into how people really want to be. People will tell me all the time when they come to our parties they came here to dance and TURN UP! They go to other parties when they want to look cute. They come to our parties because they know it’s gonna be the liveliest, realist event to be at. And it’s a nice mix that we have, too. We get just about everything here. We consistently have the ballers, the celebs, the locals, and even off-shore money (foreign diplomats) … don’t come to my table if you don’t plan on taking a shot!

Do you have a favorite Hip-Hop moment from Supperclub or any of your other residencies?

Sincere Show: My birthday! My favorite moment was my birthday. We had P. Diddy performing, Chris Brown, Rihanna, Future and Ciara was in the house. The couple swag was on another level. It was just jammed packed with celebrities and they were all dating … Diddy performed ALL of his songs starting with ‘Ocho Cinco’ and ending with ‘All About The Benjamins’. As everybody knows Diddy GOES IN, the party was going up for a minute. It was my birthday, so it was really dope that everybody came out and showed love. Chris Breezy even dropped a new track. There were so many celebrities out, yet, I only remember the superstars.

Shane: I remember this one night at Roxbury that was CRAZY! We had Drake, Meek Mill, Fabolous, French Montana all in one night. Roxbury was packed out, everybody was on. Drake was popping bottles, French was doing his thing, Fab was chilling. Shoot I remember Drake sending 15 bottles Meek Mills way, actually.

Gary: Actually I’ve had two. One was when Cam’ron performed at Roxbury on my birthday. I have to say the other was when Game was there and brought Busta Rhymes on stage. The club was so comfortable that Game took the mic and told Busta come up where they were going back in forth free styling. Crazy thing is Busta don’t rap for nobody for free, so for him to do that was a privilege. It was incredible..

As you guys have had the pleasure of breaking many LA based artists on the scene, who in your opinion is next up?

Sincere Show:

Sincere Show
The Jazmin Sisters
Mila J
Lyrica Anderson
Mike Jay
J305

There’s a few that got some crazy stuff, they been working on. It’s a nice group of young cats. I feel like the next freshman class is going to be all from LA next year.

We got great relationships with these people and they always show us love.

Shane: I like that new group Overdoz. They’re dope.

Gary: Genesis – every single he comes out with is nice. Joe Moses is next up, too.

For those who don’t know, Supreme Team was involved in breaking artists such as YG, Problem, Ty Dolla $ign, and Wiz Khalifa’s “We Dem Boyz” track.

What advice do you have for those aspiring to get in the club promotion industry?

Shane: Don’t f*ck with Supreme Team.

But if you are, have a plan! You can’t just do a club and open up the doors. It’ll be a grand opening and a grand closing.

Gary: If you’re not having fun, don’t do it. You gotta be a part of the club, you got to have fun. You gotta mingle, you gotta party.

With having some of the top residencies and the liveliest parties club wise in LA, what’s next for The Supreme Team?

Shane: We’re going to start throwing parties in the air on planes!

Sincere Show: The obvious move for us being out of LA, is to transition to Vegas, because the venues are bigger and we can make more money. It’s a bigger market out there.

Hollywood made us famous, Vegas is gona make us wealthy.

Gary: This what I mean with being competitive, if people catch on, we’re just gonna come up with something new. We’re actually working a new night that’s about to open up at Project in L.A., which is a brand new venue. We have a whole new strategy and formula that’s going to turn up with that.

Expansion, establish Supreme Team more as a brand like with clothing lines and doing cross promotion with other brands.
