When will it end for this guy
Greg Oden couldn’t catch a break if someone tossed it to him underhand. The former NCAA superstar turned NBA Draft Lottery prospect turned #1 overall pick turned historic bust has now landed himself in jail for allegedly punching his ex-girlfriend in the face. Â Oden has since been released on $10,000 bond, but he’s only got 72 hours until prosecutors decide whether or not he will be formally charged after officers arrived at his ex-girlfriend’s house to find her face bloodied and swollen as she laid on the couch.
According to Oden, striking his girlfriend in the face was an accident; a mere repercussion of his flailing attempts to free himself from two people who were attempting to hold him back. Â Oden is a monstrosity of a human being–he stands at 7’0″, and at 19 years of age he looked as if he had lived the lives of three men–and that explanation doesn’t seem as far fetched as some may make it out to be.
Oden’s ex-girlfriend was uncooperative with authorities. Â For the record, after much deliberation, The Portland Trailblazers selected Oden with the #1 pick in the 2007 NBA Draft instead of Kevin Durant, who just won his 1st NBA MVP award. Â Oden averaged less than 3 points per game this past season.
