Mind: blown

Funkmaster Flex is the most famous Hip-Hop DJ alive right now, and his “Funkmaster Flex night” is a ubiquitous DJ drop, one that’s been heard everywhere from when he DJ’s live shows and parties to the radio where he debuts rap’s most anticipated records.

Today, one savvy internet user (@jose3030) came across a Rosie Perez x David Letterman interview from 1993 in which Rosie Perez tells an interesting tale of how she was looking for a co-actor at “Funkmaster Flex Night” at The Palladium, and while repeating the name of the party, David Letterman, unbeknownst to him, became a part of Hip-Hop history.

Fast forward to the 5:50 mark and watch for a bit to see what happens.  Sure enough, even the pitch and inflection of Letterman’s voice is intact in Flex’s current drop.  Awesome.
