Emcee Joe Young returns with another banger, “Put My City On,” featuring Shady Records/Slaughterhouse member Crooked I & the accomplished songwriter/singer K. Young, whose credits include 50 Cent, Diddy, and Rick Ross.
Young commented on putting the record together, calling working with Crooked I a challenge, saying: “I initially had a record with Crooked I called “Where I’m From,” which also featured K. Young, produced by DJ Khalil. But we had another hungry producer by the name of Cartune Beatz that had the beat for “Put My City On.” So K. Young came with the hook, and it was his idea. Since I’m comfortable working with lyrical artists, I decided to put Crooked on this one, because I felt he was the best choice at the time, and I’m a big fan of Slaughterhouse and lyricism. It was challenging doing a record with him.”
