Childish Gambino Freestyles on Hot 97
This morning Childish Gambino swung by Hot 97 for an interview. But of course, where there’s an interview there’s probably a dope freestyle following shortly after. Gambino delivers a freestyle like no other rapper. He’s not at all a battle rapper but he collects his thoughts just as quickly as the likes of Kendrick Lamar or Lupe Fiasco. The rapper touches on hearing his song “3005” on the radio at home in Atlanta for the first time, visiting recent collaborator Fredo Santana in Chicago, his upcoming mixtape and SPIN magazine’s less-than-friendly coverage of his music. Watch as Peter Rosenberg cues the “Grindin’ My Whole Life” instrumental as Gambino gathers his thoughts and lets us have it straight off the dome.
