#Source360 was a huge success and Friday night’s the ‘Pass The Mic: Women in Hip Hop’ panel provoked many thoughtful insights in topics geared towards women. Moderator Kim Osorio, Journalist Courtney Brown, Singer Sade Serena, Media Personality Simone ‘Boss Lady’ and social media maven Karen Civil led an unforgettable Q&A that sparked debates, laughs as well as solutions.

The students of LIU showcased poise and intelligence inquiring the truths about the ins and outs of the music industry. Former XM radio host and tour manager Courtney Brown explained the value of honing your own talent and not engaging in personal relationships in the music industry. Karen Civil shared her experiences and individuality in the bloggers community and gave insight on creating a social empire. Sade Serena declared her uniqueness and skills separate her from the rest while Simone ‘Boss Lady’ taught the young women about empowerment and entrepreneurship.
