There’s a saying, “All good things must come to an end“. The Dallas Cowboys have been dubbed “America’s Team” for many decades now. There are valid reasons: Their winning tradition, legendary personnel that left iconic stamps on the program, and most importantly, endless amount of swagger as they became the “poster child” for marketing a professional sports organization. But now in this new day in age, there’s a new head honcho who rightfully took over that spot. According to the Harris Poll, out of a survey of 2,543 adults, the good citizens and sports fan around the nation believed that the Denver Broncos are now the country’s new favorite team. Rightfully so, the Broncos should feel this way. Since 1975, Denver has only been accountable for only 6 losing seasons, while introducing the sports nation to endless legends, Hall of Famers such as Gary ZimmermanSterling Sharpe and current General Manager of the team John Elway. Let’s not forget about the classic moments in the organization’s 54 year history, such as Elway’s helicopter dive for a touchdown in Super Bowl XXXII or the unforgettable, unpredictable play that no one saw coming, when Tim Tebow threw a 80 year touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas to upset the heavily favored perennial powerhouse, Pittsburgh Steelers. Now with the presence of the arguably “the greatest quarterback in NFL history”, Peyton Manning has been giving the fans something to cheer about, breaking records one week at a time while showcasing genius like IQ to help navigate his boys to a potential 2nd consecutive Super Bowl appearance.

As for the rest of the poll, coming in second are the “G-Men”, New York Giants. Meanwhile, the leaders of the pack for the past 6 years, the Dallas Cowboys have dropped all the way down to 4th place and your defending Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks came in 6th place. Currently, 5-1, Denver are just proving their case why they are the most likely team to be back playing on the biggest stage in February 2015.But as for this interesting poll, let’s just hope the Broncos reign on top will not go short like leprechauns. If they keep on winning, more and more believers will have no choice to respect the dominance and watch the throne.

Omari feels that as long as Peyton is in the huddle leading the way, Denver will continue to be a force of reckoning.
