The New York City doctor who reportedly took an Uber to Brooklyn two nights ago has tested positive for Ebola. The doctor, 33-year old Craig Spencer, has been placed in an isolation unit at Bellevue Hospital and his Harlem apartment has been sealed off. Authorities are currently investigating and searching for anyone he may have come in contact with during his NY travels.

Spencer, who recently came back from west Africa–where he was treating Ebola patients–and is the first diagnosed case in New York City. The good news is doctors are saying Spencer did not have a fever and was “not symptomatic” when he traveled on the three subway lines he travelled on prior to being diagnosed Thursday morning. His family, who also came in contact with him, has been quarantined and are being examined closely by doctors.

According to CNN, medical authorities are saying the chances that anyone contracted the virus from Spencer during prior to him arriving at the hospital are “close to nil”.
