Wait…what?

Late last night, Jim Carrey hit David Letterman‘s The Late Night Show to help promote the newest installment of the Dumb & Dumber movie series, Dumb & Dumber To–set to be released on November 14th–and in the process, he made sure David Letterman was healthy enough to be walking around in public, hosting nationally televised TV shows and such.

In the above clip–which is pretty funny, by the way–Jim Carrey whips out a thermometer mid-interview and takes Letterman’s temperature while simultaneously asking him if he’s recently traveled abroad, licked a toilet seat or kissed a monkey lately. Letterman, who knew he hadn’t traveled abroad but wasn’t sure about the other two questions, ended up with a temperature of 55 degrees, which couldn’t have been real, but it made for great comedy.

Also, after the semi-awkward Ebola jokes, there was a priceless exchange between the two timeless comedians.

Letterman: You travel the world promoting the movies and such, are you worried at all about the diseases and coming down with things?

Carrey: Once you’ve done a couple of press tours, you know, you welcome death.
