violence on Mass Transit between a bus driver and teenager caught on video
An incident which occurred on a Queens MTA bus yesterday is under investigation after the driver of the bus and an underage passenger got into a physical altercation yesterday morning.
An unidentified passenger on the Q112 bus started recording footage from her cell phone of the driver and the 16 year old’s confrontation when the teen quietly asked the driver could he get on the bus even though he didn’t his fare when he attempted to board the bus at Guy R. Brewer Boulevard and Jamaica Boulevard. They two began arguing which resulted in a physical altercation that wasn’t fully caught on video after the anonymous passenger stopped recording and called 911.
The teen was eventually put off the bus, arrested, and charged with criminal mischief.
The MTA issued a statement: “Bus operators are instructed to avoid any type of altercation in cases involving fare evasion. The incident is under investigation.”
